Step 8 - The Guide Menu (Picking Authoring Button)

 Video File Conversion:
To see an instructional video that covers everything from clicking the Authoring button as described below to the step of saving your video in a format Windows Moviemaker can actually use, click on the the video player to the right! You might want to click on the Full Screen button for better viewing!

This video covers steps 8 through 17. This panel for this video shows up on the page for each of these steps.

Click to Play

The next step you will need to do: click the Authoring button! After you have imported all the video clips you specified from your Canon HG10 video camera, you will be returned to the main Guide Menu. Notice the red arrow pointing at the Authoring button in the screen shot to the left. Go ahead and click it!

I know what you might be thinking: "I want to get my videos loading into Windows Moviemaker, I don't want to make a DVD using the Corel software authoring tool!"

Just bear with me and things will get clearer as we go along. Too bad we can't say that as far as the thought processes for designing this software in the first place!

Note in the screen shot to the left the top two buttons are disabled.

This is because I did this screen shot when the camera was disconnected from the PC. ...which brings up a good point... from here on out you don't need to have your video camera attached to your computer to perform the remaining steps.
