Step 12 - Opening HD Video File

Well you clicked the Add Video Files button. And the dialog box shown in the screen shot on the left will come up. You are going to pick your HD file that you want to import and convert.

The file you are picking was one of the ones you saved using the Save Files to PC button on the Guide Menu (see steps 5 6 and 7 for more info).

Let's break down the dialog box to the left:

  1. This is folder where you are looking for your video file. In this case, the folder is a sub-directory under "Video Files."
  2. This is the HD video file that we loaded on the PC from the camera. Notice the M2TS file extension.
  3. I clicked on the file (#2) and therefore selected it. so the file name appears here. You gotta select a file (I know... obvious).
  4. Do you have the right video clip? To check click the Preview button. You will see a thumbnail still from the movie.
  5. Not sure yet? click this Play button! The video will play in a small square above the Preview button.
  6. Finally, when you are sure that you have selected the file you want, click the Open button.
